Finding Information

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

In addition to the core documentation provided with Microsoft Access Workflow Designer for Microsoft SQL Server™, you can find additional information in several locations. For example, the Microsoft Office 2000 Developer provides printed documentation, including the Microsoft Office 2000/Visual Basic Programmer's Guide, which contains information about programming in the Office environment. Developers can also access the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN™) Library, the essential resource for developers.

Microsoft Office Developer Samples and White Papers

Visit the Microsoft Office Developer Web site, at http://msdn.Microsoft.com/Officedev to see new technical articles and samples. This site is updated regularly.

Use the Issue Tracking template to create a sample version of a team solution. The Issue Tracking solution can be a baseline for new solutions or only a sample.

MSDN Library

Microsoft Office 2000 Developer contains the CD-ROM version of the MSDN Library. The MSDN Library is now the exclusive source for all Microsoft developer tools documentation and contains more than a gigabyte of essential programming information.

You can access all topics from the Library CDs or install specific product documentation on your computer using the Library custom Setup options.

Office 2000 Developer documentation includes:

  • Access to the entire MSDN Library Table of Contents from your computer.

  • Context-sensitive Help (F1) for all Office 2000 Developer Microsoft Visual Basic® for Applications tools.

  • Full-text search to look up topics.

In addition to the CD version of the MSDN Library, you can now access regularly updated information at the MSDN Online Web site at http://msdn.Microsoft.com.

Using the MSDN Online search tools, you have extensive information available, including product documentation, technical articles, publications, and the Knowledge Base. You can find information about:

  • Database design considerations

  • Web scripting

  • Server technologies

  • Security

  • User interface design

Access 2000 Online Help

Because Access Workflow Designer takes advantage of the Access 2000 design interface and data access page technology, you can refer to online Help for procedural and background information about any Access feature. For example, search Access Help for information about data access pages, creating Access data projects, working with stored procedures, and so on.

Access Help can be opened from the Help menu or by selecting an Access window or feature and pressing F1.

SQL Server Books Online

SQL Server Books Online is an installation option included in the Setup program. If you select this option when installing SQL Server 7.0, files are copied to your hard disk, and the SQL Server Books Online icon is added to the SQL Server 7.0 program group.

Use the SQL Server Books Online to find information about SQL Server, including conceptual information about database design, security, and solution architecture. You will also find procedures for how to accomplish database tasks using SQL Server tools.
