Emulex FC Port driver has not been updated in more than two years

[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The resulting report details important configuration issues, potential problems, and nondefault product settings. By following these recommendations, you can achieve better performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime. For more information about the tool or to download the latest versions, see "Microsoft Exchange Analyzers" at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=34707.]

The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Win32_SCSIController Microsoft® Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine whether a value is set for the DriverName key. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool determines whether the following conditions exist:

  • The Emulex FC Port driver is installed on the Exchange server.

  • The current version of the Emulex FC Port driver is installed on the Exchange server.

  • The Emulex FC Port driver was updated in the last two years.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the value for the DriverName key has not been updated in more than two years, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

The Emulex FC Port driver provides SCSI-only or concurrent SCSI and IP functionality within a single host bus adapter (HBA) or several HBAs. The FC Port driver supports Fibre Channel arbitrated loop (FC-AL) topologies, point-to-point topologies, and fabric topologies. The FC Port driver is designed for specialized applications that require host-based logical unit number (LUN) mapping or persistent binding.

To update the Emulex FC Port driver, see the Emulex Drivers for Windows Web site (http://www.emulex.com/downloads/emulex/cnas-and-hbas/drivers/windows.html). If you need special OEM drivers, see the Emulex software and documentation Web site (http://www.emulex.com/ts/index.html).
