The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers that are running Exchange Server 2007 and generates this alert when the event or events specified in the following Details table are logged.

To learn more about this alert, if you are using Microsoft Operations Manager 2005, do one or more of the following:

  • From the Operator Console, select this alert, and then click the Properties tab. Review the description of the alert that includes the variables specific to your environment.

  • From the Operator Console, click the Events tab, and then double-click the event in the list for which you want to review the event description. Review the events that have been logged that meet the criteria of this Operations Manager alert.

Unable to move the mailbox. Problem occurred while opening an attachment. Run ISINTEG to check database problems.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that Move Mailbox operation failed when it tries to move a user's mailbox for the following reasons:

  • The antivirus software that is installed on the computer may be scanning the database while the Move Mailbox operation is being attempted.

  • The mailbox that Microsoft® Exchange is trying to move contains a damaged or corrupted message.

User Action

To successfully move the user's mailbox, do one or more of the following:

  • If you are willing to lose the corrupted message, you can skip it when you rerun the Move Mailbox operation using the wizard or the Move-Mailbox cmdlet in Exchange Server 2007. In the Move Mailbox wizard, under Move options, you can decide to skip the corrupted message, or if you are using the Move-Mailbox cmdlet, you can use the BadItemLimit parameter.   • Run the Information Store Integrity Checker (Isinteg.exe) to check for and fix the corrupted message.

  • Verify that the antivirus software is not scanning the database when attempting the Move Mailbox operation.

  • Use Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Editor (MfcMapi.EXE) to delete the corrupted message. In addition, the MAPI Editor can be used to view and retrieve the corrupted message before deleting it. For more information about downloading and using the tool, see the following sources:
