Lync Server 2010 Logging Tool: Analyze Log Files

You can analyze the contents of a log trace by clicking Analyze Log Files in Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Logging Tool. Analyzing log files requires the Snooper tool, which is included with the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Resource Kit Tools. Analyze Log Files
To analyze the log files produced by Lync Server 2010 Logging Tool, you must install the Snooper Resource Kit Tool. If you haven’t installed the Resource Kit Tools, when you click Analyze in the Analyze Log Files dialog box a message appears that prompts you to install the Resource Kit Tools and includes a link to the website where you can download them.
Analyze Log Files displays a list of components that have log files associated with them. The list is generated from the log files located in the folder specified in Log File Folder on the main Logging Tool window. When you open the Analyze Log Files dialog box, all files are selected. Clear the check box next to any components that you do not want to analyze in the Snooper tool.
The output file is the text file that is created from the log files that Snooper displays when you open it. (You can change the file that is displayed after opening Snooper.) By default the output file is created at C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Local\Temp\OCSLogger_<dateTime>.txt. For example, if user Ken Myer created an output file at 1:22 PM on December 18, 2010, the default file would be C:\Users\kenmyer\AppData\Local\Temp\OCSLogger_2010_12_18_13_22.txt. You can change the file path by typing a new file name or by clicking Browse to specify a different file location.
Click Analyze to open the logs in the Snooper tool. The Analyze Log Files dialog box closes, and the Snooper tool opens. (You may have to wait several second while Snooper initializes and opens.) For details about using Snooper, click Help in the Snooper tool.
