Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

  • You have read the topic Manage authorization for the Business Data Catalog.

  • Your system is running either the Standard or Enterprise version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    Important

    Administrators must be members of both the Farm Administrators group and the Local Administrators group.

Configure enterprise application definition for the Business Data Catalog

Use the following procedure to configure account information for an enterprise application definition used by one or more applications in the Business Data Catalog.

  1. In Central Administration, on the top navigation bar, click Operations.

  2. On the Operations page, in the Security Configuration section, click Manage settings for single sign-on.

  3. On the Manage Settings for Single Sign-On page, in the Enterprise Application Definition Settings section, click Manage account information for enterprise application definitions.

  4. On the Manage Account Information for an Enterprise Application Definition page, in the Account Information section, select the enterprise application definition that you created in the previous procedure.

  5. Type an account name for the SSO account:

    • To set a group account, used in the Trusted Subsystem authentication model, type the name of a group account in the Group account name text box.

    • To set an individual account, used in the Impersonation and Delegation authentication model, type the name of an individual account in the User account name text box.

  6. In the Enterprise Application Definition section, select Update account information.

  7. Click Set.

  8. On the Provide Account Information page, type a user name and password for a service account, database user account, or Web services credential that is being stored for use by the SSO account.

    • If you are using the WindowsCredentials authentication mode, type the name of a service account that has permissions on the back-end server.

    • If you are using the RdbCredentials authentication mode to authenticate on a database, type the name of a database user account that has permissions on the back-end server.

    • If you are using the Credentials authentication mode to authenticate on a Web service, type a user name and password with permissions on the service.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click Done.
