Manage personalization links

You can publish links to Personalization sites by adding them to the Personalization Site Links list. You can also delete or edit existing links.

To complete these tasks, you first must navigate to the Personalization Site Links page:

  1. Open the administration page for the Shared Services Provider (SSP).

    To open the administration page for the SSP, do the following:

    1. On the top navigation bar, click Application Management.

    2. On the Application Management page, in the Office SharePoint Server Shared Services section, click Create or configure this farm’s shared services.

    3. On the Manage this Farm’s Shared Services page, click the SSP that you want to open.

  2. On the Shared Services Administration Home page, in the User Profiles and My Sites section, click Personalization site links.

What do you want to do?

  • Add a personalization link

  • Delete a personalization link

  • Edit a personalization link

  1. On the Personalization site links page, click New.

  2. On the Personalization site links: New Item page, in the URL section, type the URL of the link that you want published in the Type the Web address box.

    You can test the URL by clicking Click here to test. A new browser window will be opened to the specified URL.

    You can optionally provide a description of the site link in the Type the description box.

  3. In the Owner section, type the owner of the link in the corresponding box. You can alternatively click the Browse icon to specify the owner.

  4. In the Target Audiences section, you can type in the target audiences for the published links, separating them with semicolons. Alternatively, you can specify target audiences by clicking the Browse icon.

  5. Click OK.

  1. On the Personalization site links page, point to the personalization site link that you want to delete, click the arrow that appears, and then select Delete Item.

  2. In the message box asking you to confirm the deletion, click OK.

  • On the Personalization site links page, point to the personalization site link that you want to edit, click the arrow that appears, and then select Edit Item.
