Owner Property (Database, UserDefinedFunction)

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The Owner property exposes the Microsoft SQL Server0 user-assigned ownership rights to the referenced SQL Server element.

Note

SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) strings are always returned as OLE BSTR objects. A C/C++ application obtains a reference to the string. The application must release the reference by using SysFreeString.

Remarks

SQL Server establishes ownership rules for databases. Some permissions default to a database owner, and ownership forms one portion of SQL Server access control.

SQL Server database ownership can be changed using the SetOwner method of the Database

object.
