Subscription.DatabaseName Property

Gets or sets the name of the publication database.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Replication
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Rmo (in microsoft.sqlserver.rmo.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Property DatabaseName As String
public string DatabaseName { get; set; }
public:
property String^ DatabaseName {
    String^ get ();
    void set (String^ value);
}
/** @property */
public String get_DatabaseName ()

/** @property */
public void set_DatabaseName (String value)
public function get DatabaseName () : String

public function set DatabaseName (value : String)

Property Value

A String value.

Remarks

DatabaseName is a required property and must be set before the subscription is created on the server. Once the subscription registration exists on the server, the DatabaseName property cannot be changed.

For a non-SQL Server Publisher, the DatabaseName property is set to the name of the distribution database.

The DatabaseName property can only be retrieved by members of the sysadmin fixed server role at the Publisher, by members of the db_owner fixed database role on the publication database, or by the user that created the subscription.

The DatabaseName property can only be set by members of the sysadmin fixed server role at the Publisher or by members of the db_owner fixed database role on the publication database.

Retrieving the DatabaseName property is equivalent to executing sp_helpsubscription or sp_helpmergesubscription.

Setting the DatabaseName property is equivalent to executing sp_addsubscription or sp_addmergesubscription.

The DatabaseName property is available with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

This namespace, class, or member is supported only in version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
