Insert tags and comments

Microsoft Expression Web enables you to quickly insert HTML comments and empty start or end tags, and many of the most commonly used HTML tags. In addition, you can use the following features to insert code:

  • Code snippets enable you to quickly insert a set of code that you've saved as a code snippet or a set that's provided by Expression Web. For more information, see Insert a code snippet.

  • IntelliSense enables you to look up and insert tags, properties, and values that are compatible at the current point in your code when you work in Code view. For more information see Use IntelliSense.

  • The Quick Tag Editor enables you to insert tags between or around another set of tags when you work in either the Design view or Code view of a web page. For more information, see Quick Tag Editor.

    Tip

Nearly every feature for working in the Code view of a web page has an associated keyboard shortcut you can use for instance access. For more information, see the section entitled Code view shortcuts in Keyboard shortcuts.
