Customizing filters

You can create custom filters for site reports. You can define a single filter condition or two separate filter conditions. If you define two conditions, you can also determine how the conditions are combined to filter the report results.

To create a custom filter, on the report panel, choose the column you want to filter, click Ff723966.902b6cbf-85c4-4847-9f11-103ef86cd882(en-us,Expression.40).png, and then click Custom. The Custom filter dialog box is displayed.

To define a single filter condition

  1. In the first row, click the Comparison box, and then click the operator that you want.

  2. Click the adjacent Value box, and then type or select the criteria that you want.

  3. Click OK to apply the filter to the report results.

You do not have to define a second filter condition. If you leave the Comparison box in the second row empty, only the condition in the first row is evaluated.

To combine two filter conditions

  1. In the first row, click the Comparison box, and then click the operator that you want.

  2. Click the adjacent Value box, and then type or select the criteria that you want.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the second row.

  4. Select the operator to combine the two filter conditions:

    • And   A result is displayed if both conditions are evaluated as true.

    • Or   A result is displayed if either condition is evaluated as true.

  5. Click OK to apply the filter to the report results.

How filter conditions are evaluated

An individual filter condition is evaluated as follows:

If <column name> <operator> <value>, then the condition is true and the corresponding result is displayed in the report.

For example, the following filter condition will list all errors that occur in the first 10 lines of all the pages in the site:

Issue Type equals "Error"

And

Line is less than "11"
