Form Builder

The Form Builder makes it easy to add fields as new controls to a form. You add controls and specify style by selecting options displayed in the Form Builder dialog box.

To use the Form Builder

  • Right-click on a new or existing form in the Form Designer.

    -or-

  • Choose Quick Form from the Form menu.

When you choose OK, the builder closes, applying the property settings from every tab.

Builder Tabs

  • Field Selection
Specifies fields to be added as form controls.
  • Style
Offers several style choices for your controls and the option to enlarge the form if necessary. The form size will only enlarge to fit the size of the Maximum Design Area as set in the Forms tab of the Options dialog box.

The styles correspond to those offered by the Form Wizards. If you created a form with a wizard, and then wish to add a new control of the same style, use the Form Builder. You may also add new controls with a different style. The style chosen in the Form Builder does not affect existing controls on a form. To format them, use the AutoFormat Builder.
