How to: Search for Work Items (Team System Web Access)

You can use Team System Web Access to search for work items based on a known work item ID number. You can also search for work items based on keywords or phrases that target the work item title or description that is contained in the work item details. When Team System Web Access finds a work item with an ID number that matches the one that you specified, it displays the work item details.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Readers group or have the View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To search for a work item by ID number

  1. In Team System Web Access, in the Work Item# box, type the ID number of the work item for which you want to view details.

  2. Click Go.

    Note

To search for a work item by keyword or phrases

  1. In the Search box above the quick launch area, type a keyword or phrase that appears in a work item title or content.

  2. Click Search.
