How to: Download Version-Controlled Files (Team System Web Access)

You can use Team System Web Access to download version-controlled files. After you download a file, you can modify it, but you cannot use Team System Web Access to add those changes back into version control. In order to check in your changes to Team Foundation Server version control, you must use Team Explorer.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must have the Read permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To download files

  1. In Team System Web Access, click the Source page.

  2. On the Source page, in the Name column, click a team project to display the contents of the folder.

  3. Point to the file that you want to download, click the arrow, and then click Download Latest.

  4. Click Open to open the file, or click Save to save the file to your local workspace.
