LINQ to XML Data Binding Sample (Visual Basic)

This sample demonstrates the LINQ to XML data binding feature in a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application.

To get samples and instructions for installing them

• Do one or more of the following:

  • On the Help menu, click Samples.

    The Readme displays information about samples.

  • Visit the Visual Studio 2008 Samples Web site. The most recent versions of samples are available there.

  • Locate samples on the computer on which Visual Studio is installed. By default, samples and a Readme file are installed in drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Samples\lcid. For Express editions of Visual Studio, all samples are located online.

Demonstrates

The LINQ to XML Data Binding sample demonstrates how to bind data in WPF by using LINQ to XML. The example enables you to stream videos from Soapbox on MSN Videos and lets you keep a list of your favorties (MyFavorties). The interface has two tabs, Soapbox on MSN Video and Edit MyFavorites. Soapbox on MSN Video enables you to browse through predefined video lists and your custom search results. If you like a video, you can add it to your favorites by clicking the Add button. In Edit MyFavorites, you can update a video description or delete videos from MyFavorites. Look at the Window1.xaml file to see how controls are bound to streaming XML data.
