Mapping Shapes and Connectors

The domain classes and domain relationships in your domain-specific language must be mapped to diagram elements (also known as shapes) that can be displayed on the diagram.

To map an element and a shape, select the Diagram Element Map tool in the Toolbox, click the model element, and then click the shape. Fill in the mapping details on the Shape Mapping page of the DSL Details window. For more information about how to map shapes, see Defining Shape Maps.

Compartment shapes are geometry shapes that can contain multiple compartments, or subsections. For information about how to map compartment shapes, see Defining Compartment Shape Maps.

Swimlanes are special shapes that partition the diagram into two or more parts. For information about how to map swimlanes, see Defining Swimlane Maps.

To map a connector, select the Diagram Element Map tool in the Toolbox, click the domain relationship, and then click the connector. Fill in the mapping details on the Connector Mapping page of the DSL Details window. For more information about how to map connectors, see Defining Connector Maps.
