Team System Web Access Setup FAQ

Team System Web Access, formerly codenamed "TeamPlain," is a free tool that allows you to use a Web interface to access portions of Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server. This tool allows people who don't have Visual Studio installed to access Team Foundation Server from any computer with a Web browser installed on it. For more information, see How to: Install Team System Web Access.

How Do I Upgrade to the Latest Version of Team System Web Access?

You must first uninstall the older version of Team System Web Access before you install the newer version. For example, you cannot install Team System Web Access 2008 SP1 on a computer that already has Team System Web Access 2005, Team System Web Access 2005 SP1, or Team System Web Access 2008 installed. If you try to install a newer version of Team System Web Access on a computer that has an older version installed, a message box that has the following wording will appear:

"Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."

Does Team System Web Access Work on 64-bit Operating Systems?

Yes, if you configure Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 to run 32-bit applications on 64-bit Windows operating systems. Team System Web Access does not have native support for 64-bit operating systems, but will work on a 64-bit operating system when IIS is configured correctly. For step-by-step instructions, see Configuring IIS to Run 32-bit Applications on 64-bit Windows (IIS 6.0).
