Reset the device before using it with the new transport
This warning occurs when you change the transport for an existing connection between the development computer and a device (for example, changing the Device Emulator transport from DMA to TCP/IP).
To ensure that the device-side and desktop components are using the same protocol, reset the device. The desktop then establishes a new connection using the appropriate protocol.
To reset the Device Emulator
On the Device Emulator File menu, point to Reset, and then click Soft or Hard.
A soft reset is sufficient.

In the Device Emulator Manager Available Emulators window, right-click the active emulator, and then on the shortcut menu, click Reset.
To reset a physical device
- Follow the instructions of the manufacturer.
