[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]

Raises the UploadProgressChanged event.

Namespace:  System.Net
Assembly:  System.Net (in System.Net.dll)

Syntax

Protected Overridable Sub OnUploadProgressChanged ( _
    e As UploadProgressChangedEventArgs _
)
protected virtual void OnUploadProgressChanged(
    UploadProgressChangedEventArgs e
)

Parameters

Remarks

This event is raised each time an asynchronous upload makes progress. This event is raised when uploads are started using any of the following methods.

Method

Description

UploadStringAsync

Sends a String to the resource, without blocking the calling thread.

Classes that inherit from this class can override this method to perform additional tasks when the UploadProgressChanged event occurs.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate.

The OnUploadProgressChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnUploadProgressChanged in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnUploadProgressChanged method so that registered delegates receive the event.
