Tables: Design Guidelines
- Place important information in a column as far left as possible. The left-most column usually contains unique identifiers, such as names, GUIDs, etc.
- Make each column as wide as its longest entry, plus 30percent (for expansion during localization).
- Within a given column, align cell contents in the following manner:
Align numbers at the decimal point (seen or unseen).
Right-align numerical entries (such as MB, baud, etc.)
Left-align columns that contain a combination of text and numerical values.
