Querying Component

Note

Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.

 

The Querying component takes a search string from a client composed in one of the supported query languages and, after appropriate processing, passes it to a query processor that searches the catalog to find matches.

The following files make up the Querying component.
