Using Antialiasing and Transparent Borders for Animated Images

During animation, the borders around images can appear jagged and pixelated:

To avoid this and to create a smooth visual transition from the image to the background, add antialiasing and transparent borders around images to soften the edges. To avoid transparency artifacts (for example, a gray or white "ghosting" around the image), fill the transparent parts of the image with 100% black (alpha is 0%).
