This method requests up-to-date data about events that are occurring in the local area from the MSN Direct receiver. Local-events data includes the event name, the address of the event, and a contact phone number.
Syntax
int GetLocalEvents();
Parameters
None.
Return Value
Returns the transaction ID of the request that is sent to the MSN Direct receiver; returns -1 if the request fails.
Remarks
The GetLocalEvents method uses RequestSync to perform the transaction, with LOCAL_EVENTS specified as the applicationType parameter.
The local events messages are returned asynchronously in the messageFromReceiver parameter of the ProcessInMessageFromReceiver call. The LocalEventsMsg object in the sample application illustrates how to parse this type of message.
Warning
The functions in the sample message classes handle data that arrives in a specific format in the payload of an incoming message. If you modify the way in which data is extracted from incoming messages, the message classes will not work as expected.
