This method requests up-to-date data about news items for the major news stories of the day from the MSN Direct receiver.
Syntax
int GetNewsItems();
Parameters
None.
Return Value
Returns the transaction ID of the request that is sent to the MSN Direct receiver; returns -1 if the request fails.
Remarks
The GetNewsItems method uses RequestSync to perform the transaction, with NEWS_ITEMS specified in the applicationType parameter.
The news-items messages are returned asynchronously in the messageFromReceiver parameter of the ProcessInMessageFromReceiver call. The NewsItemsMsg object in the sample application illustrates how to parse this type of message.
Warning
The functions in the sample message classes handle data that arrives in a specific format in the payload of an incoming message. If you modify the way in which data is extracted from incoming messages, the message classes will not work as expected.
