This method requests up-to-date data about traffic-flow events from the MSN Direct receiver. Traffic-flow events data includes event duration, event extent, and traffic-flow speed in miles per hour.
Syntax
int GetTrafficFlowEvents();
Parameters
None.
Return Value
Returns transaction ID of the request that is sent to the MSN Direct receiver; returns -1 if the request fails.
Remarks
The GetTrafficFlowEvents method uses RequestSync to perform the transaction, with TRAFFIC_FLOW specified in the applicationType parameter.
The traffic-flow messages are returned asynchronously in the messageFromReceiver parameter of the ProcessInMessageFromReceiver call. The TrafficFlowMsg object in the sample application illustrates how to parse this type of message.
Warning
The functions in the sample message classes handle data that arrives in a specific format in the payload of an incoming message. If you modify the way in which data is extracted from incoming messages, the message classes will not work as expected.
