Downloading the Boot Loader to the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

The default boot loader on the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform must be updated to a Windows Embedded CE boot loader. To download and install the initial Windows Embedded CE boot loader, or to restore a corrupted boot loader, please contact the OEM manufacturer for tools and instructions.

After the initial Windows Embedded CE boot loader is installed, you can download updates to the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform using Platform Builder.

Note

Be sure that you have downloaded the latest version of the Windows Embedded CE boot loader to the development platform before downloading the run-time image to the device. To download the boot loader to the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform

  1. Power on the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform.

  2. Boot your device to the default boot loader.

  3. In Platform Builder, open the file menu and load the updated boot image, and attach to the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform device.

  4. After the boot loader image is downloaded, reset the Voice over IP PXA270 Development Platform and verify that you have successfully downloaded the Windows Embedded CE boot loader.

    Make a note of the "Device Name" in the Windows Embedded CE boot loader output. This is useful when verifying that Platform Builder is connecting to the correct device.
