This method sets a value associated with a property within the service.

Syntax

HRESULT SetProperty(
  BSTR bstrPropertyName,
  BSTR bstrPropertyValue
);

Parameters

  • bstrPropertyName
    [in] Name of the property for which to set the value.
  • bstrPropertyValue
    [in] Value associated with the property.

Return Value

The following table shows return values for this method.

Value Description

S_OK

Indicates the call was successful.

E_INVALIDARG

Indicates pbstrPropertyValue or bstrPropertyName is NULL.

E_FAIL

Indicates one of the following:

  • The property was not found and could not be added.
  • The method failed to set the property value.

Remarks

If the property doesn't exist, a new property is added with the given name.

If the property exists, the value of the property is changed.
