Configuration Manager 2007 Device Management Client Installation Requirements
8/29/2011
Configuration Manager 2007 Device Management Client provides computer management features to embedded devices that run Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 or earlier versions of Windows CE. It cannot be used with Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows XP Embedded, or Windows Embedded Standard 2009.
Configuration Manager 2007 Device Management Client requires the following site systems to support Device Management Client:
- The Configuration Manager device management point site system role must be enabled.
- The Certification Authority must issue certificates if native-mode communication is required. Or, a self-signed certificate must be issued if mixed-mode communication is required.
To run Device Management Client, several installation requirements must be part of a device’s operating-system image. For instructions on how to include these components in an operating-system image, see Building a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Image.
