Review the templates available for Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8).
To quickly start an image for a type of device, you can choose a template in Image Builder Wizard (IBW). A template provides a starting point for a type of device. It has dependencies on modules that provide all that is needed for the OS to support a particular scenario, including the modules, drivers, and programs.
The following list shows examples of templates:
- Thin Client Template includes the most common features required for thin client devices.
- Retail Template enables you to quickly create Point of Service (POS) devices for retail businesses to use when processing transactions.
- Digital Signage Template enables companies to advertise using digital signs and connect with customers through engaging multimedia experiences.
