Review the settings, dependencies and any notes for the Windows Update Standalone Installer module in the Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) module catalog.

This module enables administrators to install updates manually at a command prompt or using a script. This is helpful when Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) is not available. The Windows Update Standalone Installer uses the Windows Update Agent API to install update packages that have an .msu file name extension.
