Shell Launcher (Standard 8 Module Reference)

7/8/2014

Review the settings, dependencies and any notes for the Shell Launcher module in the Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) module catalog.

This module enables you to replace the default Windows 8 shell with a custom shell. You can use any application or executable, such as a command window or a custom dedicated application, as your custom shell.

You can configure this module to launch different shell applications for different users or user groups.

This module processes the Run and RunOnce registry keys before starting the custom shell, so your custom shell does not need to handle the automatic startup of other applications and services.
