Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) Technical Reference (Standard 8)

7/8/2014

Review the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) section of the Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) technical documentation library.

Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) is a command-line tool used to modify Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) images offline before deployment. You can use it to install, uninstall, configure, and update Standard 8 features, drivers, international settings, and CBS packages. Subsets of the DISM servicing commands are also available for servicing a running operating system.

DISM can be used to service Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) and Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) 4.0 images. DISM replaces several older tools, including PEimg, Intlcfg, and Package Manager.
