PosKeyboard.DataEventEnabled Property (POS for .NET v1.12 SDK Documentation)

2/27/2008

Gets or sets a Boolean value that indicates whether the service object can deliver a queued event by raising a DataEvent event.

Namespace: Microsoft.PointOfService
Assembly: Microsoft.PointOfService (in microsoft.pointofservice.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public MustOverride Property DataEventEnabled As Boolean
public abstract bool DataEventEnabled { get; set; }
public:
virtual property bool DataEventEnabled {
    bool get () abstract;
    void set (bool value) abstract;
}
/** @property */
public abstract boolean get_DataEventEnabled ()

/** @property */
public abstract void set_DataEventEnabled (boolean value)
public abstract function get DataEventEnabled () : boolean

public abstract function set DataEventEnabled (value : boolean)

Remarks

When set to true by the application, the service object can deliver a queued event by raising a DataEvent event.

Notice that conditions may exist that delay "immediate" delivery: If the FreezeEvents property is set to true, or if the AutoDisable property is set to true and the DeviceEnabled property is set to false.

When the DataEventEnabled property is set to false by the application, the service object queues data for later delivery to the application.

Note

If an error occurs during input processing, the service object queues the error event but does not deliver it until the application sets DataEventEnabled to true.

DataEventEnabled is typically initialized to false.

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread-safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread-safe.
