Send Feedback

EAP is a versatile framework that supports multiple authentication extensions. Currently, Microsoft supports four primary authentication protocols for EAP. These protocols accommodate different levels of security needs for the EAP client and the back-end EAP server. The following protocols are the primary extensions supported by EAP:

Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP)

Transport Level Security (TLS)

Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol (PEAP)

Microsoft Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol 2.0 (MS CHAP V2)
