Join Workgroup or Domain

This dialog allows you to add the computer to a workgroup or to a domain (you cannot join both). If you add the computer to a domain, you can also create a user account on the computer.

To add the computer to a workgroup:

  1. Choose Make This Computer a Member of the Following Workgroup.
  2. Type the name of the workgroup or accept the default name suggested in the Workgroup Name box.
  3. To continue with Setup, click Next. To exit from Setup, click Cancel.

To add the computer to a domain:

  1. Choose Make This Computer a Member of the Following Domain.
  2. Type the domain name in the Domain Name box.
  3. Type the name of any user who has the authority to add the computer to the domain in the User Name box.
  4. Type the password associated with the user account in the Password and Retype Password fields.
  5. To continue with Setup, click Next. To exit from Setup, click Cancel.
