Select Optional Software Components

This dialog box allows you to select components in addition to the standard files installed with Windows Embedded for Point of Service.

Note that in the lower right corner are two information lines: Space Required and Space Available on Drive X. As you select components, the Space Required field is updated to reflect the amount of space required for your selections.

  1. If you want to install additional device drivers, check Additional Driver Support. By default, WEPOS only installs the drivers of hardware attached to your POS system while setup is running. If you want the full driver support of Windows XP SP2, then you should check this option to install the Additional Driver Support component.
  2. If you want to install Internet Information Services (IIS) (a web server that provides reliable, manageable, and scalable Web application infrastructure), check Internet Information Services (IIS).
  3. If you want to use languages and fonts other than those specified for the selected user interface language, expand Language Support to display the list of options, then check boxes to install additional languages, fonts, and input device files.

Additional Code Page Support includes all supported Windows XP codepages. If you need a codepage that isn’t in the language family you selected for your user interface language, then you should include this component.

Additional Font Support includes all supported Windows XP fonts. If you need a font that isn’t in the language family you selected for your user interface language, then you should include this component.

Additional Input Device Support includes all supported Windows XP input devices. If you need a different input device (keyboard, IME, etc.) than is standard for your user interface language, then you should include this component. If the default input language you specified is different from the user interface language you specified, WEPOS may have already selected this option for you to ensure the necessary files will be installed.
