RSoP provides the following tools that you can use to obtain the information necessary to best configure Group Policy for your organization:
The RSoP snap-in--You can use the RSoP snap-in to create detailed reports about applied policy settings. The RSoP snap-in has two modes: logging mode and planning mode. Logging mode displays policy settings that are applied to computers or users that have logged on. For more information, see RSoP logging mode. Planning mode simulates policy settings that will be applied to a computer or user, or you can use planning mode to check assigned policy settings for a computer that is not currently available or a user that is not currently logged on. For more information, see RSoP planning mode. For information about the RSoP snap-in, see Use the RSoP Snap-in.
Advanced System Information - Policy--In Help and Support Center, you can use Advanced System Information - Policy to view an HTML report of Group Policy results. Similar to RSoP logging mode, this tool provides a detailed assessment of policy settings applied to the computer and user that are currently logged on. You can print this report. For more information, see View an RSoP report in HTML.
Gpresult--You can use the gpresult command at the command line to get similar detailed information provided by RSoP logging mode. You can export query results to a text file. For more information, see Gpresult.
