Add a Demand-Dial Interface
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
Demand-dial interfaces connect routers on either public or private networks. A demand-dial interface can be either on-demand (activated only when needed) or persistent (always connected) and initiate one-way or two-way connections.
Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).
To add a demand-dial interface
Open Routing and Remote Access.
In the console tree, click Network Interfaces.
- Routing and Remote Access/server name/Network Interfaces
Right-click Network Interfaces, and then click New Demand-dial Interface.
Follow the instructions in the Demand-Dial Interface wizard.
