Event ID 72 — Print Migration Port Import Status
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
Print migration port import status relates to importing printer ports by using either the Printer Migration Wizard or the Printbrm.exe command-line tool.
|Product:||Windows Operating System|
|Message:||The device %1 %2 supports more than one port. Printbrm.exe (the Printer Migration Wizard or the command-line tool) will convert the first port on the device from a Line Printer Remote (LPR) port to a standard TCP/IP port. The port on the device might need to be reconfigured.|
Recreate the printer port
To resolve this error, use the following procedure:
- In the Printers folder in Control Panel or the Print Management snap-in, right-click the affected printer, and then click Properties.
- Click the Ports tab.
- Click Add Port, and then follow the instructions on the screen to recreate the affected port.
To verify that you resolved the problem, send a document to the printer by using the appropriate port, and then examine the document to confirm that it printed correctly.
Note: If the print server logs spooler information events, Windows logs Print Spooler Event 10 after each successful printing operation.
