Event ID 96 — NLB Filter Hooks Configuration
Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2
Filter hooks help to direct traffic in a Network Load Balancing (NLB) cluster by filtering network packets. If the filter hooks are not properly configured, the NLB cluster will continue to converge and operate normally, however, the server application that is running with NLB will not be able to properly register the hooks.
|Product:||Windows Operating System|
|Message:||NLB cluster [%2]: The NLB driver failed to register/unregister the hook interface. The cluster will converge and operate normally but no hook decisions will be left for the registering application. Please check with the application using NLB and make sure it is registering the hooks properly.|
Ensure that the NLB filter hooks are properly registered
You should check with the server application running with Network Load Balancing (NLB), such as ISA Server, and make sure that the NLB hooks are being properly registered. You can re-attempt the registeration operation using the workload management utilities.
Using the server application that is running with Network Load Balancing (NLB), such as ISA Server, verify that the NLB hooks are being properly registered.
