Event ID 16703 — QoS Policy Update

Quality of Service (QoS) policies are applied to a user or computer account by using Group Policy. The QoS policies are applied to a Group Policy object (GPO), which is then linked to an Active Directory container, such as a domain, site, or organizational unit (OU), that contains the user or computer account.

Force gpupdate to fix the registry
You must be logged on as an administrator or belong to the Administrators group to complete this procedure.
To fix registry corruption errors:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, click Run as administrator, click Continue, type gpedit, and then press ENTER.
- Type gpudate /force to refresh Group Policy and fix the registry.
This procedure will resolve most minor registry problems. However, if more severe problems with the registry exist, you must restore the registry to the last known good state, and then restart the computer.
To verify that the advanced QoS settings are being applied:
- Update Group Policy on your computer
- Ensure that the event in question is not in the event log
To verify the resolution of events related to QoS policies:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, click Run as administrator, and then click Continue.
- Type gpupdate /force, and then press** **ENTER to confirm that the event is no longer generated.
To view QoS events:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.
- In the console tree, expand Windows Logs, and then click System.
