Edit Log Directory Dialog Box

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

By default, the Advanced Logging feature writes log files for the server and Web sites to %SystemDrive%\inetpub\logs\AdvancedLogs. Use the Edit Log Directory dialog box to specify different directories for log file storage for the server and for all Web sites on the server. To specify a different log file directory, enter the log directory path in the appropriate text box, or click the Browse button next to a text box to locate and select a directory folder.

The elements that are available in the Edit Log Directory dialog box vary depending upon whether you open the dialog box at the server level or the site level.

Note

The IIS_IUSRS group on the Web server must have Write permissions to any new directories that you specify.
