Why should I get a background check?

Students and parents who come to TakeLessons are looking for a safe and qualified teacher. When surveyed, 97% of parents said they would only book lessons with teachers who have been background-checked. The Background Checked badge on your profile makes almost everyone feel more comfortable with the idea of booking lessons with you, and that’s what you want!
As of January 2022, all teachers in the TakeLessons marketplace are required to have a valid background check on file to appear in our searches for new students. If the background check expires, your profile visibility will automatically be turned off until you submit and pass a new one.
