Office 2013 Basic Test Cases (Excel)

Basic test cases to verify that Office 2013 works with a display driver or system. Excel 1. Copy Test_Excel_Workbook.xlsx to the machine where Office is installed and you are doing the testing 2. Once you've copied it, double click Test Excel Workbook.xlsx on that machine 3. Verify Excel boots, the file is opened and there are no rendering issues 4. Highlight Cells A:1 and B:1 5. Hit CTRL-C 6. Verify both cells have a green animated dotted line around the select that is smoothly animated and without any rendering issues 7. In the upper right side of the window, click on the button to the left of the minimize button which has a tooltip that reads "Ribbon Options" 8. A menu will pop up. Click on Show Tabs. 9. Verify that the ribbon toolbar smoothly animates up, there are no rendering issues, and is no longer visible 10. Click on the Ribbon Options button again and select Show Tabs and Commands 11. Verify that the ribbon toolbar smoothly animates down, there are no rendering issues, and the ribbon is showing In addition to specific verifications listed in the steps above, the general types of issues that may be encountered include: Application crashes Broken or missing functionality Rendering issues (ie. flickering UI, frame rate drops, piecemeal drawing, failure to repaint, choppy or slow animations) App Responsiveness problems (typing, selection, UI, "Not Responding", hangs, Inability to cancel)
