IDiscRecorder::QueryMediaType method (imapi.h)
Detects the type of media currently inserted in the recorder, if any.
Syntax
HRESULT QueryMediaType(
[out] long *fMediaType,
[out] long *fMediaFlags
);
Parameters
[out] fMediaType
If there is no media, both fMediaType and fMediaFlags are zero. If there is media, fMediaType contains one or more of the following values.

Return value
S_OK is returned on success, but other success codes may be returned as a result of implementation. The following error codes are commonly returned on operation failure, but do not represent the only possible error values:
