EC_NOTIFY_WINDOW

[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

Notifies a filter of the video renderer's window.

Parameters

lParam1

(HWND) Handle to the window.

lParam2

Zero.

Default Action

This event is used internally by DirectShow. The filter graph manager does not pass this event to the application. Applications cannot override the default action for this event.

Remarks

When a video renderer is connected, it checks whether the upstream output pin supports the IMediaEventSink interface. If so, the renderer sends this event to the upstream filter.
