EC_STATE_CHANGE

[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

The filter graph has changed state.

Parameters

lParam1

(DWORD) Member of the FILTER_STATE enumerated type, indicating the new graph state.

lParam2

Zero.

Default Action

No default action. The event is not sent to the application.

Note

This event can occur when the graph shuts down. If you override the default action and listen for this event, you must be especially careful not to process events after releasing the Filter Graph Manager. Otherwise, your application might reference an invalid IMediaEvent pointer and crash. For more information, see Responding to Events.
