Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)

A CRC is a numerical value related to a block of data. This value provides information that allows an application to determine if the data has been modified. A CRC is similar to a checksum, but is considered a stronger error-checking mechanism.

Compression Control Protocol (CCP)

The compression control protocol (CCP) allows two computers that communicate through PPP to negotiate compatible algorithms for sending and receiving compressed PPP frames. The two computers may not use CCP until the network-control-protocol phase of the PPP connection.

For more information see RFC 1962. Also see PPP_CCP_INFO and RASPPPCCP.
