Device Instance Properties

In Windows Vista and later versions of Windows, the unified device property model includes device instance properties that characterize device instances. These properties are grouped in this section into the following two categories:

Within each category, the device properties are listed by their corresponding property keys in the unified device property model.

Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 support most of these properties. However, these earlier versions of Windows do not support the property keys of the unified property model. Instead, these versions of Windows use different mechanisms to represent and access the properties. The information that is provided with each property key indicates which earlier versions of Windows support the property and provides a link to information about how to access the property on these earlier versions of Windows.
