Si el contenido del cuerpo está disponible en formatos alternativos que proporcionan opciones de presentación más enriquecidas para los destinatarios, puede especificar vistas alternativas para el contenido del cuerpo mediante la AlternateViews propiedad . Por ejemplo, una aplicación podría optar por enviar el cuerpo del texto sin formato y una versión HTML del cuerpo del mensaje. Los lectores de correo electrónico que pueden mostrar HTML pueden presentar la versión HTML del cuerpo al destinatario, mientras que los lectores que no pueden mostrar HTML mostrarán la versión de texto sin formato del mensaje en su lugar.
