Comentários

Para um EventWaitHandle com EventResetMode.AutoReset (incluindo AutoResetEvent), o Set método libera um único thread. Se não houver threads de espera, o identificador de espera permanecerá sinalizado até que um thread tente aguardá-lo ou até que seu Reset método seja chamado.

Importante

Não há garantia de que cada chamada para o Set método liberará um thread de um modo de redefinição EventWaitHandle cujo modo de redefinição é EventResetMode.AutoReset. Se duas chamadas estiverem muito próximas, para que a segunda chamada ocorra antes de um thread ser lançado, apenas um thread será liberado. É como se a segunda chamada não tivesse acontecido. Além disso, se Set for chamado quando não houver threads aguardando e o EventWaitHandle já estiver sinalizado, a chamada não terá efeito.

Para um EventWaitHandle com EventResetMode.ManualReset (incluindo ManualResetEvent), chamar o Set método deixa o identificador de espera em um estado sinalizado até que seu Reset método seja chamado.
